Cao Dai is an attempt to create a perfect synthesis of world religions. Excursion to Tay Ninh provice, the center of the Cao-Daism religion which combines Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism. Established in the Southern regions of Vietnam in the early 1920's, the religion was officially codified in 1926. The functioning center of Cao Daism is located in the Tay Ninh province. The temple's exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of swastikas. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side. You will experience the noon-time ceremony and view the Holy See, the enormous eyeball that represents the purity of the vision. Cao Dai literally means high tower or palace, a metaphor for the spender of spiritual growth. The central philosophy of Cao Daism pertains to the duty that the faithful perform for themselves, their family, society and the world at large. Much like Confucianism, this element of the Philosophy pertains to how the individual functions within the context of the community.
After lunch in a local eatery, the tour will wind it’s way back towards Saigon with stop at the Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing complex of the underground tunnels used during the Vietnam war.
It is miniature battle versatile of Cu Chi’s military and people during the 30-year struggle longtime and fierce to fight invading enemy to receive independence, freedom for motherland. It also is the special architecture lying deeply underground with many stratums, nooks and crannies as complex as a cobweb, having spares for living, meeting and fighting with total lengths over 200 km.
